Alberto Bichi is the Executive Director of the European Platform for Sport Innovation (EPSI) www.epsi.eu since 2010.
Following a working experience at the European Commission's cabinet of Commissioner Vanni d'Archirafi, he joined the Foreign Trade Association (FTA) where he soon became a member of the Board. In his professional carrier at FTA, he was requested to develop and improve the Federation of the European Sporting Goods Industry (FESI) www.fesi-sport.org, which he did while advancing in the hierarchy: in 1996 he became FESI Member Services Manager, and then in 2000 he became Secretary General until the end of 2017. In June 2012, Alberto became Director of Government Affairs of HDS-L http://www.hds-schuh.de The German Footwear & Leather Industry Association and, in 2014, representative of the Danish Footwear Industry Association http://skobranchen.dk in Brussels.

Alberto’s expertise covers a wide range of EU policy areas; he has a proven track record of lobbying achievements and an impressive network of influential decision makers, experts and industry leaders.

His ability to combine strategic and creative thinking allows him to overcome problems, find solutions and create opportunities even in the most difficult circumstances.

He holds an Advanced Degree in Economics from the University of Paris and further specialised in International Affairs and Politics. An Italian native speaker, Alberto also speaks English, French, German and Dutch.
